WE BEGIN IN BEND, OR

Road cycling has carried Ian Boswell from his hometown of Bend, Oregon all the way to the Tour de France.  For the past decade, Ian has raced in the world’s most prestigious road cycling events, representing the top teams in the sport. From a very young age, Ian has always been involved in endurance sports. Dad is a former professional triathlete and Mom is a competitive marathoner, therefore it’s only natural that Ian followed in their footsteps. Before cycling, Ian participated in a wide range of sports.  Then he found cycling, and moved to France to pursue his career as a professional.

IAN: ON FOCUS

For the past fifteen years of my life, I have devoted my time and focus on one thing: becoming the best professional road racing cyclist I could be. I’ve always had a thirst to constantly push myself and my body, my career and spirit.

THE CRASH

In the Spring of 2019, during a race in Italy, Ian crashed hard.  This jarring experience forced him to take a step back from cycling and competition.  The time spent away from his bike only reinforced what Ian has known all along: he loves to ride his bike.

IAN: ON LIFE CHANGING

My life changed in March of 2019, when a crash while racing in Italy left me with minor head trauma and time away from racing. Following my crash, I quickly realized that something inside me had changed. Physical symptoms lingered, and I felt emotional instability, anxiety, and worry about [my identity] if I did not return to road racing. Over the course of time, I learned to manage my symptoms and how to best balance my mental state. I came to terms with the situation and who I am deep inside.

IAN: ON RECOVERY WITH iKOR

As part of my recovery, I began to use the focused range of iKOR products to help me manage my symptoms and to return to what I enjoy doing the most. With my body and mind returning to harmony, I am ready to dip my toes in the water once again, but this time in an unfamiliar and contrasting way.

IAN: ON WHAT’S NEXT

For the 2020 season I am embarking on an adventure into the gravel racing community. Having watched this environment grow from the outside, I am ready to taste it for myself. Cycling and endurance sports will always be part of my life — the odyssey continues!
